Full moon in Aries date + time: October 17th 2024 at 4:26 am PST/ 7:26 am EST
As we slowly edge toward the dark spoke of the Wheel of the Year each Libra season, we face off with the Aries full moon.
A time of rebirth, releasing, and realigning with identity.
And this full moon has hands. Let me be so for real. This Chiron conjunction is no joke. We'll get to that...
As your personal astrologer, I'm here with your Aries full moon survival guide. We'll cover what energies will arise during this full moon, areas for celebration, crystal allies, ritual ideas, a tarot spread, and some journal prompts to get you active in your spiritual practice.
In general, the Aries full moon is a time of reigniting your passions, perhaps even those hobbies you had as a child. It is a time of remembering that you are the driving force of your life and that, ultimately, you are the one who decides how you move forward.
This full moon happening in 2024 is underscored by a conjunction with Chiron, a square to Mars and Pluto, as well as a solar square to Mars and Pluto- resulting in a grand cross- otherwise called, a big freaky square literally in the middle of the birth chart! (queue the "brother eughhh" sound)
It is likely that old wounds will resurface. Now, this doesn't mean that you're regressing in your healing journey. First of all, healing is not linear. Second of all, the moon is illuminating Chiron (the asteroid of healing, wounds, trauma, and our ability to transmute our personal healing into powerful healing of others) indicating that tenderness will arise and that's okay. It is the time to listen to what is coming up and to hold space for yourself.
The good news is: the moon is making a sextile to Jupiter, giving us room to really feel big and most of all- feel hopeful.
At the end of the day, the intensity of this moon and area of your life that will be most impacted is personal to you and can be uncovered by looking at your natal birth chart. Which is why I recommend casting your natal birth chart on astro.com or hiring a professional astrologer to do it for you and explain it all! You'll want to look at where Aries is in your chart, including the house, any angles, planets, and aspects to it.
This will show you exactly what areas of your life are undergoing a rebirth and identity cleanse.
If you'd rather have a pro look at your chart, I have two best-selling readings I'd recommend for this: my Unique Magnetism reading and my Complete Natal Chart reading.
Area of Celebration #1: Celebrating YOURSELF
Ritual ideas: Take yourself out on a date- go do something that you LOVE! Pamper yourself (it is Libra season!) release parts of your identity that you no longer resonate with
Area of Celebration #2: Celebrate what lights you up; your passions, art, & creativity
Ritual ideas: Spend some time today on your hobbies- do your favorite type of art, create something, go on a hike, use your body- whatever gets your energy moving! Connect to the frequency of momentum!
As always, you can make moon water and cleanse or charge your crystals under the light of the full moon.
Crystals to work with:
🦋 Carnelian for passion, sensuality, motivation, and energy
🦋 Smokey Quartz to protect from negativity
🦋 Obsidian for power and to release fears
A tarot spread for the Aries full moon:
Card 1: How can I connect deeper to my sense of self and identity?
Card 2: How can I move forward more authentically?
Card 3: Which area of my life is calling more energy and momentum toward?
Card 4: What should I celebrate about myself/my life today?
Journal prompts for the Aries full moon:
How do I feel about identity? How would I define myself? My values? Do I feel that I’m living authentically with my values and identity? How can I show up more authentically for myself?
What is my relationship to the divine masculine? To active energy? How can I go after what I want to achieve more? Are there areas of my life in which I could benefit from more direction and momentum?
What is my relationship like to my playful, child-like self? Do I allow myself to be silly? To play? How can I create more areas of fun and playfulness in my day-to-day life?
This full moon may feel overwhelming at times. The grand cross is no joke, and neither is the Chiron conjunction. Yes, it's totally the time to get real with yourself and do the deep healing work to make healthy, positive shifts for you and your future self, AND it's also okay to get playful, be silly, and have fun at the same time.
Check in with yourself during this time, and make sure to take care of yourself. There is deep wisdom in the stars waiting for you to find it (but it's okay if you spend the full moon curled up under the covers with a good book and sweet tea, too)
